SIPRI Intranet

HACKED? What to do

If you suspect the equipment has been compromised, immediately stop using the suspected device and hand it over to IT for assessment.

Using a computer or phone that has been compromised, even after password changes, may cause further damage and risk compromising the entire IT infrastructure at SIPRI.

Follow theses steps

1.Disconnect the suspected device from Internet – turn off WIFI and Bluetooth and stop using it.

2.Contact IT immediately via a suitable channel and tell us what has happened (mail, SMS, Teams, WhatsApp et c). Choose the safest way of communication based on what has happened – use common sense. We aim to respond quickly to emergencies also on evenings and non-working days.

3.Change all passwords. IT will change your Microsoft and SIPRI account passwords, and if needed lock the phone SIM-card. Remember to reset any other passwords that may be exposed.

4.Hand in the equipment to IT asap for assessment. We will provide a replacement.
