I want to learn more about:
Installing printers on my Mac
Printing problems
Installing SIPRI printers on my Mac
Printer names and location:
Basement (Basement floor, near the stairs)
Entrance (entrance floor, near the coffee machine)
Top (top floor, near the Boardroom)
Install the printers like this:
-Open System preferences
-Choose Printers and scanners
-Click the plus sign (+) to add a printer
-Choose the printer from the list
-In the Address field: Enter one of the names above
-Add
Basics: make sure the printer has not been paused, has paper and is not missing toner (talk to the Facility Officer regarding toners). Find more paper by the printer or in the basement.
Other possible causes:
1) There could be a print queue. Try another printer.
2) Another document could be blocking traffic to the printer. Try another printer.
3) If using Adobe Reader, open it in Preview (preinstalled, under Applications) instead and try printing.
4) Try printing another document to the same printer – if that prints, there is most likely an issue with your document – see next step.
5) Check the document to make sure it is printing in the correct format, sometimes documents are by mistake saved in letter size – change to A4. The big printer on the Entrance floor is also more sensitive to faulty documents, so always try to print to one of the other machines.
6) If it’s a PDF, try printing it as an image (open the PDF in Preview, go to File, Export, choose an img format).
7) If the machine displays an error message, talk to the Office Assistant.
